Biography of Hirshl Zvi Hordas

Hirshl was the elder of Hordas brothers. He was said to be a "good accountant". It is known that he knew brilliantly the Gmara (Talmud) and could cite it by heart. In 1942 his only 20 years old son David perished in the Stalingrad battle. That battle took about one million people, majority of which died for nothing, only because of dumb commandment by Stalin and the upper ranks of the army. Those could not care less for preserving human lives. Hirshl being in a public transport said openly what he thinks about Stalin and his commandment. This was reported and he was sent to GULAG (Soviet system of camps) where he died in 1946 in the city Saratov.
