Franklin Foer - Biography

Franklin Foer is an American journalist and editor-at-large for The New Republic. Foer is a 2012 Bernard L. Schwartz fellow at the New America Foundation as of Sept. 1, 2011.

Personal life

Franklin Foer is the son of Albert Foer, a lawyer, and Esther Safran Foer and the elder brother of novelist Jonathan Safran Foer and freelance journalist Joshua Foer. He graduated from Columbia University and lives in Washington, D.C..

Career

Franklin Foer has written for Slate and New York magazine.. From 2006 to 2010, he was the editor of American magazine The New Republic. His book How Soccer Explains the World was published in 2004.

Foer was editor of The New Republic during the Scott Thomas Beauchamp controversy.
