If I am I because I am I, and you are you because you are you, then I am I and you are you. But if I am I because you are you and you are you because I am I, then I am not I and you are not you!

Jay D. Fischer

Jay D. Fischer, a founding partner of the firm, was well known to the trial, appellate and high courts of New York and New Jersey. Mr. Fischer participated in a number of high profile cases and represented various national and international businesses. Among his clients were members of the New York and New Jersey judiciary.

In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Fischer was involved in corporate representation, including participation in transactions involving corporate mergers and acquisitions, as well as public offerings of corporate securities. A native of the Bronx, Mr. Fischer was active in the 1960s Democratic reform movement in New York City and served on the judicial selection committee for New York County.

In addition to the federal and state courts of New York and New Jersey, Mr. Fischer practiced before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Military Appeals, and the United States Tax Court. Mr. Fischer was a graduate of Columbia University Law School, and was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the City College of New York. We greatly miss Jay´s deep passion for advocacy and his dedication to clients and the law.

Among his many distinctions, Mr. Fischer was proud to have been the first attorney in United States history to sue successfully an international terrorist organization on behalf of a victim. Mr. Fischer litigated the unusual case for more than ten years in the federal trial and appellate courts in New York.
