(букв. "красная земля") — город, упоминаемый в так называемой генеалогической таблице, который был населен хананейцами (Бытие, 10, 19), имел царем Шинаба (Быт., 4, 2) и был разрушен вместе с Содомом и Гоморрою (Второзак., 29, 23, Осия, 11, 8). [J. E., I, 199].
