Учился у Азриэля в основанной им раввинской семинарии, также учился в университетах Берлина и Кёнигсберга. Был раввином Кёнигсберга, с 1900 года, унаследовал место раввина общины Адас Исраэль в Берлине, после своего дяди Азриэля. Написал несколько книг и респонсов, был советником властям по делам отродоксальных евреев и "шхите". В 1938 году уехал в Иерусалим.
