Раввин Славуты, держал со своим братом Шмуэлем Абой издательский дом. По навету были заключены в тюрьму и приговорены к смертной казни. Готовились встретить смерть, но в последний момент пригоров был смягчён на 1560 ударов кнутом и заключение. Провели в тюрьме в Москве много лет, из-за плохого здоровья получили разрешение жить в городе. С приходом Александра Второго к власти были отпущены и вернулись в Славуту. Радость встречавших была безмерной.
