Сестры Илена и Светлана Фильдштейн - близнецы, родились в один день. Во время Второй мировой войны, скорее всего, находились эвакуации. Были эвакуированы из г. Дубоссары, АМССР (Автономная Молдавская Советская Социалистическая Республика). После войны жила в Черкассах. После школы отучилась на преподавателя физической культуры. Позже переехала вместе с семьей в г. Воркута (где на тот момент жила сестра Илена). Из Воркуты переехала в Израиль. А позже - в Канаду.
