Главный раввин и судья ("ав бейт дин") в Бродах. Проинициировал раввинский конгресс 1756 года, на котором Яков Франк и франкисты были исключены из общины. После этого был отстранён от должности раввина властями, однако продолжил жить в Бродах, поддерживаемый общиной.
