Известен своим трудом "Хен Аарон", изданный одним из хасидов Гедальи после смерти последнего. Сначала был раввином в Ильинцах, затем в Соколовке, где Николай Первый разрешил поселиться евреям, изгнанным из своих мест по указу властей. Стал известен во всей округе, как святой человек, творивший чудеса. Узнав, что власти приняли решение сослать Гедалью в глубь страны, бежал в Румынию, где был принят с почестями, продложив был еврейским лидером.
