играл видную роль в войне между Испаниею и Португалиею. Разглашением тайны ему удалось расстроить намерение королевы Леоноры убить ее зятя, а в вознаграждение за это он был назначен главным раввином Кастилии, между тем как король португальский Иоанн I конфисковал его имущество. Перед смертью занимал пост министра финансов Кастилии. Сохранился его надгробный камень.
