Известный экономист и публицист, в молодости был активным социал демократам - меньшевикам. Был также профессором и заведующим кафедрой экономики промышленности Института Народного Хозяйства им. Плеханова. В 1931 г. А.М.Гинзбург являлся одним из главных обвиняемых на процессе “Союзного Бюро партии меньшевиков” и был приговорен к 10 годам заключения.
