Раввин и судья общины ("ав бейт дин") Праги, брат первой жены Маараля. В 1568 г. занял должность раввина Буска. В 1584-87 гг. - раввин Праги. После смерти пражского раввина намеревались назначить на эту должность Махараля, но из-за того, что тот в своей проповеди подверг критике глав общины, а также противился пильпулю, был назначен Ицхак Хают, а Маараль направился раввином в Познань. Однако, из-за внутренних конфликтов в общине, через 4 года Хаюта изгнали, и был приглашен Маараль. После этого Хают стал главой иешивы в Проснице.
