Влюбилась в своего школьного учителя, решила уехать с ним в Польшу (1920г.) Задержались в городе Остроге. Учитель сразу получил место в гимназии. Вначале даже преподавал польский язык, после математику и физику. В то время мама кончала последний восьмой класс. Начали думать о свадьбе. Роза приняла православие. Переменила имя с Роза на Ксения и фамилию с Трахтенберг на Горлецкая.
