    On passenger list from Turkey to US, surname is spelled Doutchenko and place of birth is Soumy. Naturalization papers list place of birth as Kharkov, which is where he always said he was from. I don't know whether he meant the guberniya, which Sumy was part of, or whether his family moved from Sumy to the city of Kharkiv when he was young.
