Jordan Bratman - Biography

Jordan Bratman (born June 4, 1977) is an American music marketer. He is best known for his high-profile marriage to singer Christina Aguilera, with whom he was married from 2005 to 2011 and had a son.

Early life

Bratman was born in The South Bronx, New York. He is the son of Gail (born 1951) and Jack (born 1949), a music producer. He was raised Jewish. He has a brother, Josh. Bratman landed his first job at sixteen. He went on to intern at several recording studios in New York City. After graduating from the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in New York in 1995, Bratman pursued his bachelor's degree in business management at Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business in New Orleans, Louisiana. While a student there, Bratman began seeking out and recording local artists at the American Sector Recording Studio in New Orleans.

Career

In 1999 Bratman was appointed head of A&R at DARP Music Inc. in Atlanta by Dallas Austin. He worked alongside Austin, Pink, Michael Jackson and Christina Aguilera. In 2002 he moved to Los Angeles. He is the founder of his own management firm. He has worked as a consultant for UMG and Universal Pictures for the soundtrack of Bad Boys 2.

Personal life

Bratman is the former husband of singer Christina Aguilera. He met her in 2002 and they married on November 19, 2005, in Napa Valley, California. Their child Max was born January 12, 2008, in Los Angeles, California. On October 12, 2010, media reports indicated the two had been separated for months. On October 14, 2010, just days after confirming that they had separated, Christina Aguilera filed for divorce.

Bratman and Aguilera's divorce was finalized April 15, 2011
