Yona Reiss - Biography
Yona (Jonathan) Reiss (born 1965 in New York City) is an American rabbi, noted Torah scholar, attorney, and jurist, and the current Max and Marion Grill Dean of Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS), which is Yeshiva University's most important yeshiva component, and serves as a preeminent seminary for the training of Orthodox rabbis.
From 1998 to 2008, Rabbi Reiss served as Director of the Beth Din of America [1]. He learned in Yeshivat Shaalvim in Israel before graduating summa cum laude from Yeshiva University in 1987 with a BA in philosophy, received his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1992, and served as senior editor of the Yale Law Journal.
Rabbi Reiss and his wife Mindy have five sons and a daughter and live in Riverdale, NY. [2]
