Польский раввин; родился в Кракове около 1690 года; умер в Амстердаме 2 апреля 1755 г. Он происходил из знаменитой семьи раввинов. Его отец Саул был краковский раввин; его дед был краковский рабби Hoeschl. В 1707 году он женился на Мириам, старшей дочери Цеви Ашкенази, раввина в Альтоне. Он продолжил обучение под руководством своего отца, с которым он отправился в Амстердам, а оттуда в Польшу. В последней стране он был избран раввином Дукли. Под влиянием своих родственников он получил раввинскую позицию в Тернополе, бывший раввин был вытеснен официальными лицами правительства, чтобы освободить место для него. Это вмешательство со стороны гражданских властей, естественно, вызвало большую оппозицию к нему в собрании, и в короткое время Арье Леб был свергнут. Впоследствии он был избран раввином Жешув, а позже из Глогау. В 1740 году он был призван в Амстердам, где оставался до самой своей смерти.
